Accounts Payable Specialist

MetaCoastal is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, where you will have a critical role toward the company’s profitability.  In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the financial management team by managing payments in a timely and efficient manner, - ensuring operational effectiveness.  This position processes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.  It partners with the cash team to ensure funds have been appropriately allocated and are available to support each check run.

Responsibilities and duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Possess working knowledge of all AP related functions including but not limited to: Coding, reviewing, posting invoices and checks Standard accounting knowledge and journal entry experience Weekly reporting of out-going payments for cash forecasting
  • Maintain up-to-date W-9s for all vendors
  • Process and report 1099’s
  • Prepare and reconcile intercompany payables
  • Data entry, filing, and maintenance in order to support the department
  • Collaborate with other departments and vendors to resolve AP issues
  • Report process concerns and make recommendations to management to improve procedures
  • Any additional responsibilities set by Management


  • AA degree in accounting preferred; 2-3 years progressive Accounts Payable experience required
  • Experience in evaluating multiple property and location invoices (i.e. maintenance, cleaning, utility)
  • Experience in high volume processing of invoices/payables
  • Experience in automated accounts payable preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel. Oracle Fusion and/or PeopleSoft knowledge a plus
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
  •  Not afraid to  handle changing priorities at a moments’ notice
  • Organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Excellent communication skills to interface with company employees and vendors
  • Must be intellectually curious and not afraid to ask questions
