Photographer/Photo Editor

MetaCoastal, a shared services company, is seeking a creative individual with an eye and passion for photography and photo editing to join our marketing team in the role of Photographer/Photo Editor.  This position is responsible for the quality and content of all editorial photographs, primarily vacation rental properties,  published through a variety of platforms.  It is responsible for ensuring that all editorial photos are of the highest quality possible before they are published.  This photo editor/designer position is responsible for cataloging, archiving, and tagging all imagery for a shared-services model, as well as ensuring all work is constant with established brand guidelines. This position will also take full responsibility for the management of photos uploaded to the server to be placed on the company websites.  The right candidate will have proven experience in image editing, photography, graphic design, print production, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. This salary for this position is $35 - $42K based on experience and is based out of the MetaCoastal office in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Relocation is not provided. 


Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform retouching, color correcting, cloning, and adjustments as needed to imagery
  • Management of company photo and video contests
  • Responsible for cataloging, archiving, and tagging all imagery across shared-services 
  • Use independent discernment and creativity to create compelling photos that highlight properties
  • Photograph owned or leased enterprise real estate
  • Responsible for website and social media imagery
  • Assistance in web design and print marketing
  • Ensure brand standards are reflected in photography
  •  Support marketing initiatives and contributing as a member of the marketing department to the overall strategic vision



  • BA or BFA in graphic design and 2 years minimum industry experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Photoshop and Lightroom
  • Proficiency in use of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong experience with photography
  • Strong knowledge of real estate photography, including staging and lighting
  • Understand the technical aspect of creating and optimizing image assets for online including pixel dimension requirements; asset storage; naming protocol; and optimizing images for page load time
  • Motion graphics and video editing skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask


Preferred but not required:

  • Advanced working knowledge of Dreamweaver, Flash, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Experience in graphic design/production
  • Working knowledge of SEO, especially as it pertains to naming and optimizing images
  • Familiarity with print production and page layout
  • Experience with advertisements, brochures, and trade show collateral
  • Creative; able to think outside the box
