Travel Agent

This position is responsible for providing extended services to Travel Advantage Network and Affiliates’ (TAN) clients.  Its primary function is to ensure each client is provided excellent customer service, offering all applicable services to provide an extraordinary vacation experience.  It is responsible for driving revenue through relationship building and efficient processes, encouraging repeated use of GETS.

 

Position Goals and Responsibilities:

  • Provide TAN clients with exceptional customer service through education and consistency:
  • Communicate with TAN clients via phone calls and emails, actively listening to determine travel destination; mode of transportation; travel dates; financial considerations; and accommodations required
    • Offer TAN clients a variety of amenities to complete their travel needs, as well as options to heighten the experience, including but not limited to the following:
      • Hotel
      • Room
      • Cruises
      • Flights
      • Car rentals
      • Tickets to events
    • Assist clients with outstanding customer service issues, proving effective and immediate resolutions
    • Adhere to Client Call Compliance standards including:
    • Customer Service
    • Knowledge
    • Consistency     
    • Partner with employees to assist with both business and personal travel accommodations
    • Remain current with all GDS (Saber) updates to ensure expedient service for every client  

 

  • Build internal and external relationships that will drive GETS revenue,- focusing on a shared effort to provide the client an extraordinary vacation experience:
    • Review promotional emails to determine which should be sent to the Marketing Department for client email blasts
    • Assist TVS, B2B, and Marketing with maintaining and updating vendor promotions

 

  • Maintain GETS operational procedures to ensure TAN brand standards are being met , as well as federal compliance:
    • Utilize Saber to book all airplane tickets, omitting excluded airlines
    • Maintain records of clients’ invoices and information secured
    • Complete, review, and submit various reports
    • Collect payment for all services provided, including applicable agency fees
    • Print or request transportation carrier tickets using the GETS computer system or the travel carrier’s link

 

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position all candidates must have the following:

  • Associate’s Degree Hospitality and Tourism or Business Management, preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in Travel and Tourism, Sales and Marketing, or Customer Service and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in Saber
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite

 

Successful candidates will have the following:

  • Travel Agency experience, a plus
  • Strong customer service background
  • Acute sense of urgency-  ability to manage timelines and multi-task
  • Ability to proactively listen, analyze, and anticipate clients’ needs
  • Strong communication skills—Verbal and Written, and be able to speak quickly on their toes
  • Self-motivated
  • Extremely Detail Oriented
