MetaCoastal is seeking a seasoned Handyman to ensure the proper functioning of all managed vacation rental properties.   This individual will be responsible for ensuring all units are operating appropriately and have the foresight to make recommendations for items that require replacement or repair prior to failure, as well as the ability to know their limitations; notifying management when a skilled tradesman, is needed. 


Position Goals and Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for promoting the client’s brand, through maintaining assigned properties to  brand standards; establishing a high standard of excellence and expectation:
    • Responds to all assigned calls, with urgency
    • Notifies Property Care Coordinators when company approved tradesmen are needed to complete elevated work orders
    • Performs pre-season improvements and punch list
    • Makes Minor repairs to toilets, sinks, laundry room, faucets, and showers as needed
    • Repairs and replaces stove burners and exhaust fans, as needed
    • Ensure smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are working properly
    • Replace switches, plugs, and light fixtures when necessary
    • Check lighting throughout the unit—replacing light bulbs as needed
    • Maintain doors, including repairs of hinges and locks, and rekeying
    • Check and replace heating and air conditioning filters, as scheduled
    • Perform basic drywall repairs,  and painting
    • Rescreen window and patio screens


  • Provide a variety of miscellaneous support to Property Care team to ensure a successful season and promote client  retention:
    • Maintain an organized work area, ensuring the maintenance areas are clean, neat, and stocked
    • Assist with daily/weekly unit inspections, when needed
    • Assist team whenever possible with guest concerns
    • Assist Property Care staff, when needed
    • Drive as needed on behalf of  the company



To be considered for this position all candidates must have the following:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience and/or training  in Carpentry, Flooring, and Painting;  in a Hospitality environment, preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation and communication (cell phone)
  • Open availability (nights, weekends, holidays, and on-calls)
  • Own tools preferred

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Ability to inspect and recognize maintenance failures
  • Basic computer skills (to track Time & Attendance)
